Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
Another clay mask that I have fallen absolutely in love with is the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. For the longest time, I literally could not find this mask to buy anywhere, and again didn’t want to pay to have it shipped because, like what if it’s a waste right? (I’m sure a lof of us have this inner dialogue).
But on countless blogs, insta and even with over 10,000+ review on Amazon I had to get my hands on it. The clay is bentonite clay from Death Valley California, where it sun dried for up to 6 months in very high temperatures. The clay is 100% natural calcium bentonite clay with no additives, fragrances or animal products. It is used specifically for acne and blemishes. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay lifts the pimple and blackheads into the clay bed to cause accelerated healing and nourishment to the skin with over 50 minerals.
Once again I randomly found it at my local mall and had to try it out. For $15 bucks you get this tub of powdered clay. The website says you can get 10-15 masks out of 1 tub but I feel like you can get a lot more. Its has kind of a green tinge to it and the instructions say to mix it with either water or apple cider vinegar. I prefer apple cider vinegar as it has a more powerful effect.
Anyway, mix it up into a paste, about 2 table spoons of the powder and equal parts ACV and apply like normal. Wait for the mask to start drying and you literally feel the clay drying and sucking your pores clean. ITS WILD. I like the pulling sensation I feel on my face; it feels like the mask is really doing a deep clean.
Its important to note that you really shouldn’t leave it on for more than 20ish minutes, and your face is most likely going to slightly pink to red once you wash it off with warm water but it goes away. I can now understand why this is such a cult classic, BECAUSE IT WORKS!! I have already recommended it to a lot of my friends if they suffer with cystic acne and scarring. I almost feel as though the mask removes an entire layer of your skin. Its pretty intense so I don't recommend using it more than once or twice a week and always follow up with a hydrating moisturizer.
If you go to their website they also have other recipes with the clay to help you relax :)
