Its funny that after living in the great city of Toronto for over 3 years I had never been to the Art Gallery of Ontario. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that I had been selected by Dave Lackie to attend Shiseido’s Art & Beauty event that was being held at the AGO, hosted by the Vice President of Shiseido Canada, #girlboss herself, Elaine Shigeishi. Not only did the evening include getting a closer look at Shiseido’s new Essential Energy skincare line BUT we also got a private tour of the Kusama Infinity Mirror’s Exhibit! (Finding out that there was a waiting list with over 65,000 people was major!!)
The night started off with cocktails and some really delicious hors d’oeuvres. They had transformed the main lobby of the AGO into a wonderful event space, complete with stations to get your pictures taken, get your makeup touched up and some beauty experts to teach us all about Shiseido’s new Essential Energy skincare line. I chatted with a girl named Natasha who spoke fluently all things Shiseido. She let me know that I would be going home with a full size moisturizer at the end of the evening (amongst other Shiseido swag.) I have been using the moisturizer now for a week and I AM IN LOVE.
After getting a selfie with the VP of Shiseido Canada (had to) and chatting up the girls behind the stations about makeup tips and tricks, a small group and I headed towards the exhibit. To say we were excited would be an understatement.
Going through each exhibit and learning about Yayoi Kusama’s inspiration behind each piece was truly fascinating. The emotion and effort that went into each piece and each exhibit was truly inspiring to witness. From infinity mirrors to a “phallus-field” there was always more to discover.
At the end of the tour, we were greeted with our swag bags, full of Shiseido goodies that will surely be used. Inside contained two beautiful keepsake notebooks from the AGO, inspired by the #dots theme, a flattering ruby red lipstick, Shiseido’s Bio Performance Glow Revival Serum and of course their new moisturizer.
All in all, it was a great evening meeting, talking and discussing all things #ShiseidoDots and skincare. Having the event at the AGO and partnering with such a great exhibit was the cherry on top of a very delicious cake! Check out my Instagram @nelufersface to see some cool pics from the event!
